Conflict, Forgiveness & Boundaries

Hello. I am Claire Bennett. I am eleven, and I teach Junior Academy. Mrs. Hale is our headmistress, but this hour is mine. This is week 26. Today's lesson is Conflict, Forgiveness & Boundaries. Sit with me and we will learn it together. Romans says, 'If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.' Notice the if. Peace is a Christian aim. It is not a command to stay quiet while someone is cruel. You may disagree without name-calling, slamming doors, or recruiting the whole family as a jury. You may also say, 'That is not okay,' and tell a trusted adult. A real apology names the act, owns it, and changes. 'I'm sorry you feel that way' is not an apology. Manipulation uses guilt, silence, fear, or confusion to get its way. Isolation — cutting you off from friends, parents, church, or help — is a warning sign, not romance and not family loyalty. Forgiveness can release bitterness. It does not require you to remain in reach of someone who will not stop doing harm.
