Self-Care & Personal Presentation
Hello. I am Claire Bennett. I am eleven, and I teach Junior Academy. Mrs. Hale is our headmistress, but this hour is mine. This is week 32. Today's lesson is Self-Care & Personal Presentation. Sit with me and we will learn it together. Claire's room is where a day begins: a made bed, a washed face, clothes that fit the day. Psalm 139 says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. That is not a slogan for a mirror lecture. It is permission to sleep enough, eat real food, wash, and tell the truth when your mind is heavy. Homemaking culture sometimes praises the girl who never sits down. We will not. A household leader who never rests becomes sharp, sick, or both. Hygiene is love of neighbor as well as self — clean hands, clean clothes, cared-for hair, and, as you grow, the ordinary care of a woman's body. There is no shame in a period. It is a health fact. Dress for the occasion: church, work, home, play — modest, clean, and suited to the job. You are not a decoration. You are a person. Caring for others requires caring for yourself.
